So Alison tweeted this out earlier today:

It has always been my dream to be in a hard comedy movie with DOG PUPPETS! Help make this dream come true by supporting @Allanthedogfilm! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/allan-the-dog-dogs-love#/

The project is the development of a motion picture titled "Allan the Dog", featuring Alison, Sam Daly, and the title character - Allan the Dog (a puppet). The movie is the brainchild of Director Barry Murphy and Screenwriter Steve Wright, both of which have been developing the world of the movie and the story for the past 4 years.

The plot itself is described as follows:

A talking dog (Allan) and his owner, Matt (Sam Daly), a loveable mechanic, look for fame in Hollywood as a comedic duo. When they fall in love with the same girl, Ellie (Alison) – the cute, new dog walker – Allan The Dog runs away and follows his own path to discover, the hard way, what their friendship truly means.

The project goal is $125,000 - which while it may seem like alot, is actually more in the "shoe-string budget" range when it comes to making a movie. The campaign team describe the needs as follows:

After spending four years developing the story and screenplay, we've put a good amount of our own money into getting the ball rolling on production, but we are now facing the reality that we need contributors to help us cover the bare essentials to get this movie shot, edited, and distributed on a variety of digital platforms.  We need enough of a budget to rent the minimum equipment, shoot at the minimum locations we need, pay for a skeleton crew for a 15 day shoot, feed people, pay for professional sound design and color correction -- it all adds up extremely quickly, which is one of the reasons making movies is so challenging.  Our hope is that our friends, family, and community, will believe enough in our story and our team to chip in to help us reach our minimum goal.  And hey, if a miracle happens and our crowd funding really takes off, and we get more than 125K, than the movie and Allan's journey on the screen will be bigger and better than ever.  And if we don't reach our goal, we will use whatever we raise to keep us moving forward until our ultimate dream of making this movie is achieved.

Currently the project is set to end (about) a month from this posting!

If possible, please take a moment to look over the Indiegogo page, which contains a ton more details than what I have listed here, plus various videos from the creators!

Again, the link to the page is https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/allan-the-dog-dogs-love#/

If you can, please donate - in addition to helping Alison with this project, there's also a several great perks that you can select from, based on your donation level!

Enjoy! Grin

No way! We’re only in the second week of our funding campaign for #allanthedog and we’ve already raised over 6K for our LITTLE movie with a BIG heart starring @thesamdaly & @alisonhaislip — thank you all so much! https://igg.me/at/allanthedogmovie

If you haven't already given, please consider doing so! Based on the time left - I'd say the crowd funding is set to finish June 14th or 15th.
